Dr. Alice R. Berkowitz has served as a Clinical and Forensic Psychologist for over 30 years. She is certified as a Mediator, Marriage and Family Therapist, and Addiction Specialist. Serving a wide variety of clientele, Dr. Berkowitz sees many high-profile personalities, entertainment professionals, and celebrities in the Los Angeles area, as well as travels to perform client consultations all over the country.
Dr. Berkowitz works with individuals, couples, families, and children dealing with a wide spectrum of psychological disorders, including depression, anxiety, post-partum depression, life-transitions, acute trauma, and eating disorders. Dr. Berkowitz also sees people who are interested in psychological growth and achieving greater prosperity in their lives. Although her training is traditional, her approach is personable, friendly, and very real. She does not take a back seat position to psychotherapy; she is present gentle, smart, intuitive, confronting and insightful. Many of Dr. Berkowitz's patients have been seeing her for years, as well as those clients that come back when their life situation affords further treatment.
In addition to her Clinical practice, Dr. Berkowitz has served as a Child Custody Evaluator, Expert Witness and Litigation Consultant in Family Court. She has also served as an Expert Witness and Litigation Consultant in Civil Court, Criminal Court, and Military Court. Her areas of specialty include Parental Alienation, Reviewing Child Custody Evaluations performed by other Evaluators, Parenting plans, Reunification Therapy, Parental Alienation, Domestic Violence, and High Conflict Custody Disputes. Dr. Berkowitz is an expert on Harassment, Stalking, Sexual Abuse, Addiction, Traumatic Brain Injuries, the Evaluation of those Alleged to have committed Sexual Abuse and Sexual Assault with children or adults. Dr. Berkowitz has performed hundreds of Risk Assessments during her years of practice.
